About us
Greystones Community First Responders (CFR) comprises a dedicated team of locally-based volunteers who undergo rigorous training to swiftly respond to medical emergencies within our community.
Embodying a spirit of service and compassion, we stand ready to provide critical aid when every second counts, making a profound impact on lives in our local area.
Our objectives
Our group has three main objectives:
1. Recruit and Train Volunteers: We aim to recruit and train locally-based volunteers to provide a Community First Responder (CFR) service to the communities we serve. This involves ongoing costs for training, equipment, uniforms, PPE,and other necessities.
2. Install and Maintain Defibrillators: We plan to install and maintain Publicly Accessible Defibrillators (PADs) in strategic locations across our communities. We currently own and manage 11 PADs. Each Automated External Defibrillator (AED) costs approximately €2000 to install and around €500 per year to maintain.
3. Promote Awareness and Education: We strive to promote awareness, knowledge, and skills across the communities we serve through training and education. This includes teaching individuals how to recognize and manage medical emergencies such as cardiac arrest, heart attack, and stroke.
