We are Greystones Community First Responders (CFR)

Since 2006, Greystones CFR has been actively collaborating with the National Ambulance Service. Our dedicated volunteers, residing in the Greystones area, play a vital role in delivering early response and essential life-saving aid to individuals who dial 999/112 for emergency ambulance services.

Our intervention is especially critical in situations where the Ambulance Service faces challenges in reaching emergency scenes promptly. For instance, in cases of cardiac arrest, our ability to arrive within 5 to 8 minutes significantly enhances the chances of survival for the affected individuals.

When a 999 or 112 call reports a cardiac arrest or other major medical emergencies within Greystones, Delgany, and surrounding areas, Greystones Community First Responders are mobilized alongside an ambulance dispatched by the National Ambulance Service.

All Community Responders are volunteers who operate under our registered charity (RCN: 20206662). We depend entirely on funds raised within our community to maintain our equipment and public access defibrillators located throughout Greystones. Additionally, we conduct regular maintenance checks, ensuring batteries and pads are replaced as necessary to keep our resources in optimal condition.

    Following our public announcement in August regarding the damage to one of the defibrillators, the team at South Beach Clinic quickly reached out to us privately to offer their support in replacing the faulty AED. This generous and selfless donation truly reflects the vibrant community spirit in Greystones.

    We sincerely thank Dr. Paul Murphy and the entire team at South Beach Clinic for their support.

    This crucial life-saving device is essential in emergencies, and its damage posed a significant risk to our community.

  • Annual Tesco Collection Days - Thank You!

    A massive THANK YOU to everyone who volunteered their time at our annual Tesco Collection Days over the past two days! 🛒 Your dedication, smiles, and support are vital to our fundraising efforts (along with our quiz nights!), and we’re so grateful for every one of you.

    It was fantastic connecting with the public, hearing their heartfelt stories of gratitude, and possibly even welcoming a few new recruits to our team. You’re all incredible – take a well-deserved bow!
